Nancy Tyson, Farmhouse

David Rothrock brought Nancy to L’Arche from Spokane in 1986. Next year will be her 40-year anniversary at L’Arche Tahoma Hope!

Nancy is a joyful, caring and humor-loving lady. Her smile always brightens up the room and her wittiness always makes people laugh. Here’s what she said when we talked to her recently. 

What things are you excited about these days?

I’m (excited) about the grass being green. 

I’m excited about going to art class once a week.

I’m excited about getting to spend time with old assistants and friends! 

I’m also excited about planning a trip I want to take this year!

What are your favorite things?

Some of my favorite things are country music, the color yellow, butterflies, horses, toys, Christmas, and when there’s nothing on the ground!

What do you like to do?

I like coloring, painting, tearing up paper, buying stuff, going on trips, and watching classic TV shows like Little House on the Prairie,  I Love Lucy, and The Nanny. 

Justin Jones, Ananda

Justin Jones is an Ananda assistant who recently moved here from Hawaii and joined our community at L’Arche Tahoma Hope. Justin enjoys surfing, working on cars and spending quality time with family and his girlfriend. 

Since Justin has been here, House Coordinator Josie Ruiz says he has been such an incredible asset to the team. From painting Stacie’s new bathroom to grilling every week, Justin brings a smile to everyone’s face. Ananda and L’Arche are grateful to Justin and for who he is and all that he contributes!
