Favorite Holiday

Christmas!

The house is decorated every year with a tree, stocking, and all the other trimmings for Nancy’s very favorite holiday. 

Favorite Music

At Farmhouse, you can often hear Garth Brooks playing on repeat in the background. Les especially loves Kiss, Elvis, and Johnny Cash while Shann loves Kenny G and the Annie soundtrack. Debra loves anything pop that would go well with her sparkling outfits. If you listen really closely, you can often hear Doug humming and Leana absolutely loves the sound of her tablet.

Favorite Foods

Leana’s favorites include “meatsy” or “burnsy” dinners. Everyone loves Red Robin outings, cocoa on Tuesdays, ice cream on Fridays, and–of course–chocolate!

Favorite Activities

Sometimes known as the Summer House, people in Farmhouse love to walk around the farm in the summer. They also enjoy rodeo outings and sporting events like bowling with Sound Athletics. Other favorites include “poking,” or going to stores to collect and concerts, like Les’ favorite Mini Kiss.

Biggest House Challenges

Farmhouse is an older house built in a series of additions and it has many needs, including a new heating system. While the space is homey, it can be tough for mobility issues and the gravel drive can be difficult for accessibility too.

Recent Changes and Future Plans

L’Arche is currently working with a contractor to rebuild the Farmhouse staircase outside the bathrooms. We are also thankful for the AC units received from donations this year!
