What is an Endowment Fund?
An endowment fund helps provide for the continuing support of an organization. The endowment principal is placed in safe investments, and the interest accrued is used as income for the organization. Limits are set on withdrawing from the endowment principal to ensure the stability of the endowment fund.
Thus, contributions to endowment funds are lasting gifts that help provide an ongoing source of revenue. The greater the principal amount in an endowment fund, the more income an organization is able to earn each year.
Endowment donations can also be made by check. Be sure to write the name of the endowment fund on the memo line of your check and mail it to L’Arche Tahoma Hope, 12302 Vickery Ave. E, Tacoma, WA 98446.
