Why choose a CSA with L’Arche Farm?!
L’Arche Farm is a workplace where folks with and without intellectual disabilities support each other’s employment as farmers! We love our identity as a workplace, a community, and a place to learn. Our tagline is Growing People Growing Plants. We believe our growth as a community and as individuals is deeply connected to the growth of the plants and produce we grow and tend to! They are some of our best teachers.
Eating local and supporting local are ways we commit to collective flourishing! We also believe in the importance of cooking seasonally. We hope that your bellies are nourished by delicious produce and that you will join us in learning from the land, from each other, and from the bountiful lessons farming has to offer.
The best way to keep up on all that is happening at the farm is to subscribe to our weekly e-newsletter, Fresh from the Farm.
Can I choose what is in my produce box each week?
The produce in your CSA box will be pre-selected based on the variety of produce ready to be harvested that day. If there are items in your box you aren’t sure of, we are happy to tell you what they are and give you some ideas of how to use them. We have heard your feedback and desire to know what you are getting in your box! We will send updates in our Fresh from the Farm email about what is in each week’s CSA share. Please also feel free to ask questions when you come pick up!
I’d like to participate but I cannot afford the cost upfront. Is there anything I can do?
Contact [email protected] to talk about payment plans and other options!
How do I pick up my share?
Arrive at the farm (11814 Vickery Ave E) on the day and time slot you chose at sign up. We will be distributing boxes from the Barn—the large building with a green roof! Please bring a reusable bag or some sort of container so you can transport your goodies home! If you need to adjust your time slot please let us know through email.
What happens if I cannot pick up at my scheduled time because I’m out of town, sick, etc?
We ask that you try to find a friend, co-worker, neighbor, family member to drop by the farm and pick your CSA up. If you need to reschedule pick up days, we request 24 hours advance notice as we harvest for your CSA the day of pickup.
As a member, when can I visit the farm?
We love welcoming our friends to the farm. We appreciate advanced notice if you would like a proper tour and L’Arche welcome. If you’d like to schedule a visit to the farm, talk to one of the staff at a CSA pickup to arrange a time to stop by and meet the team. Otherwise you are welcome to visit anytime during business hours! If you’d like to volunteer please contact [email protected].
Is the farm organic? Do you use pesticides?
We are not certified organic. Though we have not completed the steps for certification we do not use any pesticides in our fields and use organic, sustainable methods of growing.
How do I find out more about my CSA and the Farm throughout the summer?
From Spring through Fall, Fresh From the Farm is emailed weekly to keep subscribers up to date with the latest info from the Farm. We highlight our farmers, share growing tips, share recipes for your seasonal produce, and advertise seasonal events and sales. This is also where we list what you can expect in your weekly CSA share later that week. You don’t want to miss this weekly dose of L’Arche Farm Love! SUBSCRIBE NOW!
